Three students from Lovely Professional University, a Desuup and, a hotel staff who tested positive on the rapid test kit Tuesday tested negative on conformity PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) yesterday.
According to a health official, two tested positive for Immunoglobulin M (IgM). Three tested Immunoglobulin G (IgG) positive.
IgG shows evidence of past infection, whereas IgM shows evidence of an ongoing infection.
He said that IgM positive cases were detained for extended quarantine.
The health official said that the rapid test kit was sensitive and there were also cases of false-positive. “But we do not want to take a risk. Therefore, we have extended their quarantine duration.”
Two IgM positive along with their roommates were kept on extended quarantine.
A repeat test will be conducted after a week.
Twenty-eight people completed quarantine yesterday.
