Market: Local vegetable vendors in Chali gewog, Mongar will soon get a permanent vegetable market shed at a place called Gangola where the two main roads for Mongar and Lhuentse meet.

The shed is being constructed on the command of His Majesty The King. Site engineer Lobzang Tshering said workers from the Royal Bhutan Army, Dewathang wing 10, are helping in the construction.

The budget for the shed’s construction is provided by the Gyalpoi Zimpon’s office in Gyalpoishing.

The shed has ample space for the vendors to display and sell their local produce as well as a storage room for the leftovers. “We are grateful for the soelra from His Majesty the King,” the site engineer said.

Chali gup Tadin Tshewang said that after His Majesty the King grand kidu to construct the shed, the beneficiaries also met and decided to contribute to the shed’s construction.

The gup said the shed, which the Department of Agriculture and Marketing Cooperatives had built twice didn’t last long.
