The Gyalpoizhing-Nganglam highway, which was blocked since June 7, is likely to open to traffic by today afternoon, according to officials from Department of Road’s (DoR) regional office in Lingmethang.

The road was blocked near the Kuri-Gongri confluence, which is 42 kilometers away from Gyalpoizhing town. Few vehicles are stranded at the block.

DoR officials say landslide due to heavy rainfall washed away the formation width of the road. They said machines have been deployed at the site to clear the road.
