Ceremony: His Royal Highness, Gyaltshab Jigme Dorji Wangchuck graced the Tashi Rabney (consecration ceremony) of Sangay Chholing Lhakhang at Jarey in Lhuentse on December 9.

Presided over by the Gangteng Trulku, over 50 monks performed the Tendrel Sungchhog. The programme included Tashi Ngasoel, offering of Zhabten to His Majesty The King and His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, offering of Tashi Dzegay and Ku-Sung-Thugten Mendrel to the Gyaltshab.

His Royal Highness offered prayers in the lhakhang for the wellbeing of His Majesty The King, His Majesty the Fourth King, the country and all sentient beings. His Royal Highness also interacted with the local people who offered Tshogchhang.

The lhakhang’s construction began in 2004 and was completed in 2009 with labour contributions from the people of Jarey and financial support from the civil servants of Jarey community. The lhakhang benefits over 150 households in Jarey and other nearby villages.

His Majesty The King granted the Nangtens, which include the statues of Guru Tsokhor-sum (Guru Rinpoche with two spiritual consorts, Khandro Yeshey Tshogyal and Lhacham Mendharawa); Toenpa (Buddha Shakya Muni); Zhabdrung Rinpoche; Gonpo Maning (protective deity Hayagriva) and Palden Lhamo (protective deity Mahakali)

Gangteng Trulku established a zhirim Shedra in 2010. The shedra at present has a khenpo, a lopon and 17 novices.
