Road: For the last five days, Lhamoizingkha dungkhag has remained cut off from Phuentsholing and other parts of the country after the swollen Kalikhola stream at the border prevented vehicles from entering the dungkhag.

One of the two passenger buses that plies between Lhamoizingkha and Phuentsholing, has been stuck in Lhamoizingkha since August 18. The other bus has been dropping and picking passengers from Hauda, an Indian border town that connects to Lhamoizingkha.

Lhamoizingkha dungpa Tashi Gyeltshen said only those vehicles with four-wheel drive can cross the stream.

No damages to properties and public have been reported. With incessant rain, the river usually remains swollen at this time of the year.
