Thinley Namgay 

High Quality United FC (HQUFC) defeated Transport United FC (TUFC) 3-2 in the ongoing BoB Bhutan Premier League (BPL) at the Changlimithang Stadium yesterday.

High Quality broke the deadlock from forward Lhawang Phuntsho’s  goal in the 39th minute of the game. Skipper Lhendrup Dorji doubled the club’s lead five minutes later.

Transport fought back in the second half. Chimmi Dorji pulled back one with a long-range goal, three minutes into the second half. Following a free kick, Chimmi Dorji equalised with his second in 72nd minute.

However, High Quality’s Tenzin Thinley scored the deciding goal for the team in 81st minute.  The club had eight shots and one corner kick in the entire game, while Transport managed six shots with four corner kicks.

High Quality received six points from their last four games in the league.

Meanwhile, Ugyen Academy FC defeated Druk Stars FC 4-1 on September 28 in Punakha.

Paro FC thrashed Tensung FC 5-0 at the MTC ground in Wangdue on September 27. This was the biggest return for the defending champions after losing two consecutive matches at home against Thimphu City FC and Transport.

With a 1-1 draw against Paro United FC on September 26, Transport managed to earn five points from the last five games. With 10 points each, Thimphu City FC and Ugyen Academy FC were on the top of the table as of yesterday.

Paro FC will face Paro United FC today at Woochu Sports Arena in Paro.
