His Holiness the Je Khenpo appoints the Tshog-ki Lopon of Zhung Dratshang.

His Holiness the Je Khenpo conferred Tashi Lekdhar to Khenpo Sangay Khandu and appointed him as the new Tshog-ki Lopon on June 10. 

Prior to this appointment, Khenpo Khandu, who is from Gaselo, Wangdue served as the principal of the Institute of Science of Mind (Sem-dhoen Rigpai Pelkhang). 

He was ordained as a monk from a young age at the Wangduephodrang Rabdey. He engaged in the practice of Gar-Thig-Yang Sum (Mask dancing, Mandala drawing & metrics, Chanting) and Thoe-Sam-Gom Sum (Listening, Contemplating, and Practising) extensively. In the year 2000, he was appointed as the Uzin (principal) of Rinchenling Shedra, Wangduephodrang, where he served for 7 years. Then, in 2007, he was appointed as the principal of Tango Shedra and served there for four years. Following that, he has been serving as the principal of the Institute of Science of Mind since 2014. 



The Tshog-ki Lopon is the head of the division in charge of periodic religious services and ceremonies within and outside the dzong pertaining to the welfare of both the living and deceased.
