His Majesty The King granted audience to India’s foreign secretary, Vijay K. Gokhale, yesterday.

Vijay K. Gokhale arrived in the country yesterday for a bilateral meeting with the government.

Vijay K. Gokhale called on to Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, foreign secretary Sonam Tshong, and other senior government officials.

A press release from the foreign affairs ministry stated that during the visit, the two sides reviewed and updated on several areas of development cooperation, including hydropower and trade, the golden jubilee celebrations to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relation between the two countries, and other matters of mutual interest.

The press release stated that the foreign secretary’s visit reinforces the tradition of regular high-level exchanges between the two countries.
