High Quality United FC (HQUFC) surprised Paro United FC (PUFC) staging a strong comeback in the second half to grab three points in the ongoing 2020 BoB Bhutan Premier League yesterday at Changlimithang Stadium.

HQUFC despite playing on home ground succumbed to the pace and pressure from PUFC in the 16th minute. Kinzang Chophel, who blew wide a sure goal chance in the 8th minute, redeemed himself to give his team the much-deserved lead.

Both teams couldn’t capitalise on scoring chances and the first half ended 1-0 for PUFC.

The second half was a total disgrace for the PUFC as HQUFC slotted four goals.

The visitors through their pace and precise passing had set a high tempo from the start. It was a rough match. Both the teams maintained parity in ball possession in the first half.

Paro United had quickly responded the opponent’s pressure in the eight-minute through its defender Sonam Dorji, who created a perfect chance to striker Kinzang Chophel, who missed.

PUFC maintained the same pace at the beginning of the second half. Kaka Tshering doubled their lead in the 53rd minute.

But their celebrations were shortlived. Bikash Subba scored the first goal for HQUFC in the next minute and made it 2-1.  From then on the tables turned.

HQUFC mounted pressure and scored two quick goals in 78th and 79 minutes through Tshering Dendup and Tenzin Thinley.  In the dying minutes, Bikash Subba netted his brace to make it 4-2.

HQUFC slammed 10 shots and kicked in four corners, but the opponent could manage only four shots with two corners.

The match was played in the closed-door stadium.
