His Royal Highness Gyaltshab Jigme Dorji Wangchuck on Thursday inaugurated a farmers’ market shed in Gangola, Mongar.

The shed was constructed by the soldiers of the Royal Bhutan Army on the  command of His Majesty The King.

The market will benefit the farmers of Chali, Tsakaling, and Mongar gewogs, who market their produce at the strategic location situated at the junction of the Mongar-Bumthang and Mongar-Lhuentse highways.

The structure with Bhutanese architectural features was built at the cost of Nu 1.88 million. Construction of the shed that began on April 12 last year was completed in December.

The new market shed includes a store, improved public toilets with water supply.
