His Royal Highness Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck was unanimously re-elected as the President of Bhutan Olympic Committee (BOC) for another four years until 2025 yesterday.
Representatives from BOC, National Sports Federations (NSFs), National Sports Associations (NSAs) and Dzongkhag Sports Association (DSAs) unanimously re-elected His Royal Highness during its 22nd executive committee meeting, and fifth general assembly held virtually yesterday.
Eight new executive committee members were also elected from the NSFs and DSAs. Forty-one members from 15 NSFs, and five NSAs, and 15 DSAs attended the meeting.
His Royal Highness said: “I would like to thank the members of the BOC for trusting and supporting me over the last 12 years. Now I am grateful for the confidence vested in me and for giving me the opportunity to lead the BOC for another four years.”
“In the next four years, our organisational culture and work ethos must change so that we can become better together and are also able to meet the ever-changing demands of sports in the country,” His Royal Highness said.
BOC also presented the Strategic Road Map (SRM) 2021-2028, covering two Olympic cycles, that aims to inspire and change lives through sports.
