Road: Blacktopping of 5.45km Khoma Gewog Centre Road (KGCR) in Lhuntse is expected to be complete by May 28.

Contractor Sonam Jamtsho has asked for an extension period to blacktop the road.

“Blacktopping 3km road in two weeks is impossible. Rain will now disturb the work,” Sonam Jamtsho said.

Department of Roads’s Lunten Jamtsho said that blacktopping work was awarded to Sonam Jamtsho & Bro’s November last year.

“More than 340 households will benefit from the road,” said Khoma Gup Sithar Tshering. The road is will reduce ravel time by about 8 minutes. Eleven households that make up the community will feel the immediate impact.
