Anniversary: A total of 355 saplings were planted in Autsho Central School yesterday to mark His Majesty The King’s 37th birth anniversary in Lhuentse.

Besides the plantation, agriculture minister Yeshey Dorji also inaugurated the Park Range Office in Dungkhar gewog. Various species of trees such as cypress, gol mohar, jacaranda, bakaina, leuceana and chir pines were planted, among others.

Chief forest officer Kado Tshering from the regional forest division in Mongar said that the plantation was carried out as part of Autsho yenlag thromde’s development plan with the yenlag thromde being the gateway to Lhuentse dzongkhag.

The Mongar forest division and Autsho Central School coordinated the programme attended by the dzongdag, dzongkhag, thromde and forest officials.

People from Autsho expressed gratitude for the occasion that was marked with a tree plantation while students said they offered prayers while planting the trees for the good health of His Majesty The King.

Meanwhile, Mongar dzongkhag also observed His Majesty The King’s Birth Anniversary     yesterday in the presence of students, the Lam Neten, Parliament members, the dzongrab, and dzongkhag officials, among others. Students and dzongkhag officials performed various dances to mark the occasion.

Schools also offered zhabten and offered butter lamps for His Majesty The King’s long life.
