SAG: Bhutan bagged three more medals on losar, bringing its total medal tally to five at the end of day four of the 12th South Asian Games (SAG).

The Bhutanese archery team won three more medals at the JLN Sports Complex in Shillong today.

The archers have won a silver and four bronze medals so far in the competition.

In what was one of their top performances so far by the national football team, the under-21 Dragon Boys managed to hold the Bangladeshi team to a 1-1 draw.

The Bhutanese took an early lead in the 18th minute after defender Jigme Tshering Dorji tapped-in his first goal of the tournament from Chencho Gyeltshen’s delivery inside the box.

For the first time, the Dragon Boys looked like they had an upper hand in the game. Chencho who could have scored a few more goals in the game failed to provide a good finish to the execution produced by his teammates on the day.

However, in the dying minutes of the first half striker MD Nabib Newah Ziban equalized for Bangladesh after heading in a corner kick into the top left corner of the post.
The second half of the game saw several opportunities for Bhutan but the Dragon Boys failed to capitalize.

The fate of the Bhutanese team will be decided after the game between Bangladesh and Nepal on February 11. If Bangladesh wins the match, Nepal and Bangladesh will qualify for the semi finals. However, if Nepal wins with a goal difference of five or more, Bhutan play in the semi finals.

Meanwhile, in athletics, both the athletes in the men’s 100 metre and 800 metre sprint came last at the Indira Gandhi Athletics stadium in Guwahati.
