Bumdeling in Trashiyangtse is known for deshog, traditional Bhutanese paper made from the bark of Daphne plant. There is demand for the paper, but shortage of raw materials and manpower is affecting the production in the two factories in Phangten village, not very far from the Trashiyangtse town.

Goenpola, 65, said he made about Nu 90,000 a month from the sale of deshog. “However, raw materials are hard to come by these days.”
