Crime: Police arrested a 23-year-old man from Lhuentse on March 28 for damaging eight vehicles in Thimphu.

At around 11pm, a Motithang resident reported to police that a man was kicking and punching an Alto car that was parked near the fuel depot in Motithang.

When police reached the scene, the culprit had fled. However, police arrested the culprit with the help of the resident’s description of the man.

Police found seven other vehicles with dents and glasses and mirrors broken, causing damage worth more than Nu 60,000.

Police said that the man was under the influence of alcohol when he was arrested.

“An alcohol test showed high alcohol contain in him so we could not take his statement the same night,” police said.

According to police, eyewitnesses said that the man kicked and punched the parked vehicles. However, the culprit denied the allegation.
