Crime: Wangdue Phodrang police has arrested a 38-year-old man from Belpa village in Kazhi gewog in connection to allegedly killing another man.

The deceased, 33, died a few minutes after he was stabbed deep below the right armpit with a drozum (dagger).

The incident happened at the suspect’s uncles’ house in Belpa village near Byelangdra Nye. The two were drunk and went outside carrying knives to fight. A day before that incident, the suspect has called police and reported that the deceased has been provoking him to fight, police said.

The suspect has also informed the local leaders that the deceased was provoking him to fight before the incident, local sources said.

Sources said the alleged was convicted for stabbing a policeman in Bajo town earlier this year.

Police said the cause of the fight was money.
