Crime: Sarpang police arrested a 24-year-old man from Wangdue for stabbing a 33-year-old man on the evening of December 22 at Jigmeling in Sarpang.

According to a source, the victim and his brother were drinking alcohol at a bar run by the suspect’s wife at Jigmeling at around 6pm.

It has been learnt that the suspect and the victim had an argument inside the bar. The two later went outside the bar where a fight broke out between them and the suspect punched the victim.

However, no one at the scene could tell when the suspect stabbed the victim. Some eye witnesses said the suspect stabbed the victim when he punched him.

The victim’s cousin took him to Gelephu central regional hospital.

According to a source, the victim was stabbed on the left side of his chest which required three stitches. The victim is in stable condition.

The cause of the argument is not known.

The source also said that when Sarpang police reached the scene, the suspect had run away. Police caught the suspect later.

Sarpang police said the case is under investigation.
