The man from Kilkhorthang was airlifted from Gelephu referral hospital yesterday morning.
On May 26, the victim had travelled to Gelephu to visit his girlfriend working as a clinical nurse at the referral hospital.

According to the Gelephu police, at around 5am, the girl heard a sound of someone being hit. When she rushed to the living room, her boyfriend (victim) was lying on the bed. Her ex-boyfriend (suspect) was found beside the victim. On seeing her, the suspect jumped over grabbing her neck.
When the suspect went towards the kitchen to draw a knife she rushed outside. Bolted the door from outside. She then immediately reported the case to the police at around 5.30am.
On reaching the scence police found that the victim was hit with a stone that was recovered near the victim. When the girl latched the door from outside, the suspect had escaped from another space.
Police found the victim with severe injuries. He was immediately rushed to the Gelephu hospital in critical condition.
Police recovered the 23-year-old suspect’s wallet. While the suspect has been identified, he is still at large.
