With the initial success of its mobile application, My Resources, Natural Resources Development Corporation Limited (NRDCL) is now going to include services related to timber and boulders within this year.

NRDCL’s mineral resources division General Manager Dorji Wangmo said the app currently offers services to sand buyers.

“We’re going to incorporate those services as well to make it more convenient for our customers,” she said.

As of May, there are around 1,075 customers, 484 transporters and 660 construction sites registered in My Resources app that NRDCL launched earlier this year.

The app was launched on February 21 to commemorate the birth anniversary of His Majesty The King. The app is aimed to provide efficient customer service and enhance service delivery.

The app enables the users to register, place orders for sand and make payments in one sitting at their convenience without having to visit NRDCL offices. Transporters interested to delivery sand can also register through the app.

Dorji Wangmo said that the app has made customer service efficient without having to visit the office. Before the launch of the app, people would stand in a queue in front of the Sales and Customers Service Center.

“But now people hardly visit offices or centres,” she said.

“The app has been launched at the right time. The app has led to less crowding in our offices and at the extraction site.”

Some truckers, who use the app, said that the app is handy because they are notified when they are scheduled to deliver sand without having to wait in line at the extraction site.

A trucker from Punakha said, “The app eases the service delivery with payment received immediately after submitting receipts.”

An app user said that it saves time since order and payments are made online which does not require him to visit offices physically.

NRDCL helps customers who visit their office to download and register via the app.

The app was developed in collaboration with Thimphu TechPark Limited.
