Crop and livestock insurance makes slow progress in attracting farmers

Despite a government allocation of Nu 800 million and a 50 percent subsidy, the National Crop and Livestock Insurance Scheme (NCLIS) has recorded low enrolment, with only six farmers registered so far and no new crop insurance sign-ups beyond the pilot phase.
