September 12, 1982 - Under the joint assistance of UNICEF and Department of Industries and Mines, a Knitting Centre has started functioning at Damphu, Chirang from august 1, 1982. The centre was inaugurated by Dzongda of Chirang, in the presence of many local officers, staff and public. On that day, nice women trainees were admitted in the centre.
