No motive in Paro murder case

Update:Paro Police was unable to establish a motive for the 25-year-old woman, who murdered a couple on the evening of July 1, in Woochu, Paro.

The incident was reported to police on July 2 and the suspect was arrested the same day. She has confessed to the crime.

During interrogation, the suspect told police that both the suspect and the deceased’s wife had consumed marijuana.

“She had taken marijuana after consuming alcohol, which might have caused hallucination and murdered the couple,” a police official said.

The suspect told police that the 40-year-old deceased man had raped and killed her mother when the couple lived in Samtse few years ago and that she had avenged her mother’s death.

However, police found that the couple never lived in Samtse. The suspect’s brother told police that their mother died from an illness.

The couple was strangled to death at their house. The suspect told police that she killed the couple towards midnight of July 1 while the couple’s eight-year-old son said that the incident happened on the morning of July 2.

The deceased were identified as Indian citizens, who worked as caretakers of an apple orchard in Paro. The case will now be forwarded to the Office of Attorney General.
