Road: Blacktopping of the remaining portion of Norgaygang’s gewog connectivity road has finally come through.

The road that connects Norgaygang and Bara is expected to bring economic benefits to the people in Norgaygang who grow cardamom. Road condition has been a problem for a significant time.

Officials with the Department of Roads’ (DoR) regional office in Phuentsholing said that the awarding of the contract to blacktop the remaining portion is being carried out.

Executive engineer EN Chhetri said that the contractor has 10 months to complete the work.

The project is being executed with GoI-funded Small Development Project. A budget of Nu 30.19 million (M) has been approved for the second part of the 12.2km road.

The first half of the blacktopping work was completed within the budget of Nu 10M under the same fund source.
