The President of Association of National Olympic Committees and Olympic Council of Asia, His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Al Fahad Al Sabah of Kuwait informed His Royal Highness Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck, the President of Bhutan Olympic Committee that Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) in collaboration with International Swimming Federation (FINA) and Olympic Solidarity would work towards developing swimming infrastructure in the country.

His Royal Highness Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck met President Sheikh Ahmad Al Fahad Al Sabah during the 22nd General Assembly of Association of the National Olympic Committees (ANOC) held in Prague, the Czech Republic from November 2-3.

ANOC General Assembly is the largest meeting of national Olympic Committees. The annual meeting gathered around 1300 delegates from 206 Olympic committees from around the world.

His Royal Highness also met the Senior Vice President of International Swimming Federation (FINA), Captain Hussein Al-Musallam.

The ANOC is a body entrusted with the responsibility of strengthening the relationship between the NOC’s and the Olympic Family for the benefit of the Olympic Movement. ANOC assists NOCs and the International Sports Federations by facilitating and providing a platform to forge a more productive and collaborative working relationship between the NOCs.

The next General Assembly of ANOC will be held in Tokyo, Japan in 2018. The first ANOC meeting was held in San Juan, Peurto Rico in 1979 with 118 countries participating.
