After a slim victory over Bhutan in the away game at the Changlimithang stadium, the undefeated group leader Palestine thrashed Bhutan (10-0) in the third round of AFC Asian cup qualification to qualify for the AFC Asian cup 2019 at Palestine yesterday.

Palestine switched the position from 4-2-3-1 formation used in the first game to 4-3-3 at home, to avoid its players from missing the opportunities.

Palestine media reported that the team got less preparation time and missed out professional players. However, this disadvantage had no influence over the game as Bhutan could hardly repeat their hard fought game at home.

Head coach, Torsten Spittler in the pre match press conference said that he expected a good match. “We want to make a good match tomorrow and build the match.” The game ended with Bhutan losing 10-0 to Palestine.

With the three points win from Bhutan, Palestine is the first team from the group to secure a spot in the AFC Asian cup 2019.

Bhutan will play last two group matches of the qualifier against Oman at home on November 14 and against the Maldives on March 27 next year.
