Police in Phuentsholing is looking for a 30-year-old man from Dungmana village of Trashigang for his alleged involvement in the murder of a man in Phuentsholing.

The victim, a 25-year-old man from Zhemgang was found dead near an orange depot area along the Toorsa embankment.

According to sources, the incident occurred between 1am and 2am of January 8 when the victim and his three friends had gone to eat at a restaurant near the depot.

The victim’s friend, Ramesh Gurung, who informed the matter to police, said the suspect was in Toorsa when they reached there. “The suspect had charged the victim inside the restaurant but I stopped the fight.”

He said that the suspect then threatened to harm him as well.

Ramesh Gurung said that following the scuffle at the restaurant, the suspect stabbed the victim when they went out after having noodles.

The restaurant owner at Toorsa said that four men had come to eat noodles but he was not aware of what happened outside.

Police officials say they are investigating the case.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time that a murder is reported in Toorsa. In January 2016, a 23-year-old taxi driver succumbed to the wounds he sustained.

Sources said that people visit Toorsa after late night parties and when drayangs are close in Phuentsholing town.
