Farmers in Kikhar village of Ngangkor gewog in Zhemgang prepare hay for oyster mushroom cultivation. The gewog agriculture official trained eighteen farmers to prepare hay, and create incubation and fruiting house. This was the first time the farmers received oyster mushroom cultivation training. Previously, the farmers were trained on growing Shitake mushrooms. However, none of the farmers produced enough to market the mushroom. The farmers are hopeful that oyster mushrooms would grow well and help them earn more.
