A total of 132 volunteers from 19 government and non-governmental offices collected 2,667kg of waste from the Chubachu stream in Thimphu during World Water Day on March 22. A press release from the organiser, Royal Society for Protection of Nature stated that the campaign was organised to create awareness on the impact of polluting the water bodies and encourage people’s participation to impart civic responsibilities in the conservation of water bodies. RSPN adopted the stream in 2017 and has initiated 29 cleaning campaigns to date with other conservation partners in Bhutan.
