Sawan Month begins: The Sawan Puja, which marks the auspicious month of Sawan in the Hindu calendar, was celebrated in Samtse yesterday.

The event saw the participation of the Samtse Dzongdag, along with other officials, who joined devotees in offering prayers.

Sawan, also known as Shravan, holds immense significance for worshippers of Lord Shiva, as they seek his blessings during this holy month.

Most people fast every Monday, showcasing their deep devotion to Lord Shiva during the month of Sawan. This year’s Sawan month is exceptional, as it extends for a period of two months, after a 19-year gap.
