- A cultural programme was held as part of India’s 70th independence day celebrations at the Indian embassy in Thimphu yesterday. Her Majesty the Queen Mother Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck graced the programme along with members of the Royal Family, Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, senior government officials and the Indian community in Thimphu. Earlier in the day, the Gyalpoi Zimpon felicitated the Indian Ambassador on behalf of His Majesty The King.
