Thousands of devotees including trulkus, lams, monks, lay-monks, nuns and residents from across the country are receiving oral transmission and empowerment of Kangyur, the teachings and precepts holy scriptures of Lord Buddha, from His Holiness the 70th Je Khenpo, Trulku Jigme Choedra, at Kuenselphodrang, Thimphu. The three-month long empowerment began yesterday with the offering of Kusung Thukten Mendrel by members of the Zhung Dratshang, the three arms of the government and organisers for the well being and long life of His Holiness.
