Three national karate players, Dewan Monger, Karma Dorji and Tshering Wangchuk along with the general secretary, Sensei Tashi Phuntsho, left for Colombo, Sri Lanka yesterday to compete in the 4th South Asian Karate Championship that starts today, according to a press release from the Bhutan Karate Association. All three players are students of Motithang Higher Secondary School while Tashi Phuntsho is a teacher at Lumang Primary School. This is the second time Bhutan Karate Association is officially representing Bhutan. The game is in preparation for the South Asian Games 2019 to be held in Nepal.
