A national workshop was held to celebrate Himalica’s work in Bhutan on February 26 in Paro. The Himalica project was implemented in Barshong in Tsirang to reduce poverty, enhance sustainable land and water management. The project carried out piloting of two value chains, goat and vegetables (beans, cabbage, onion, and ginger) to improve the livelihoods of target beneficiaries and contribute to reduction in the food trade deficit. The project has also constructed an 8km farm road to improve access to markets, local institutions, education and health services and other socio-economic benefits.
