A Bhutanese delegation led by Foreign Secretary Sonam Tshong attended the six-day 74th session of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) that ended yesterday in Bangkok, Thailand. Sonam Tshong said that seven Least Developed Countries (LDC)  from the region, including Bhutan, are set to graduate in the next few years and stressed the need to address the last mile challenges faced by these countries from declining level of development assistance, among others.  He stressed that the need for enhanced transition support measures for these countries to ensure that graduation to the middle-income category is smooth and sustainable.
