The ministry of foreign affairs held a prayer ceremony and the lighting of thousand butter lamps at the Tashichhodzong yesterday for the former secretary general of the United Nations, Kofi Annan, who passed away on August 18. Led by the Chief Advisor of the interim government, Chief Justice Tshering Wangchuk, the prayer ceremony was attended by senior government officials and representatives of international organisations based in Thimphu.
