To boost rice production and encourage farmers to cultivate more than two seasons in a year, Ngatshang gewog in Mongar is piloting spring paddy cultivation. Led by Ngatshang gup, a group of farmers from Yadi transplanted paddy, rice variety called Bari 26 & 28 on two langdos (0.66 acre) of wetland in Thangdong on March 25. The spring paddy is expected to be ready for harvest after four months.
