The Zhung dratshang’s Dorji Lopen is presiding over the fifth annual Moenlam Chenmo (great prayer ceremony) in Trongsa. The three-day Moenlam Chenmo started yesterday.

Coinciding with the Moenlam Chenmo, Tashi Pelden, 36, from Chendebji was appointed as the first lam of Chendibji. The new lam became a monk of Trongsa rabdey when he was 14-years-old and graduated from Tango Buddhist College. He completed his three-year meditation from Pelgiri and received wang lung from the 69th and 70th Je Khenpo.
