Another female Asiatic elephant was darted and collared in Phibsoo Wildlife Sanctuary early this month taking the total number of collared elephants to four.
Forestry officials and Wildlife Conservation Division officials have been collaring Asiatic elephants to study the seasonal movements of the animal in Bhutan. Two more elephants are due to be collared in Lhamoizingkha and Samtse before the year ends. Of the three collared earlier, two were collared in Samrang, Samdrupjongkhar and one in Sarpang.
