Transport: The people of Jarey and Metshog gewogs of Lhuentse will get a transport service tomorrow.  Inauguration of the service took place in Jarey gewog on April 13.

The service will ply between Lhuentse to Jarey on Mondays and between Metshog and Lhuentsi on Wednesdays.

Damchu Dorji, RSTA base-in-charge, said that all the gewogs in Lhuentse had put up a bus proposal at the sixth DYT meeting.  Transport service for Jarey and Metshog is a pilot programme.

Without bus service, villagers of Jarey had to travel to Autsho, 16.3km from the gewog, to shop.  A taxi ride costs Nu 600 per person.

Metshog gup Tshering Samdrup said that having a transport service once a week would help 800 villagers of Metshog gewog.
