Prime Minister Dr Lotay Tshering leaves for Bangladesh today on a four-day state visit.

The visit is made at the invitation of the Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. A press release from the foreign ministry states that the visit, which is in keeping with the tradition of the regular exchange of high-level visits between Bhutan and Bangladesh, will contribute in further strengthening the excellent relations between the two countries.

“Among others, the two sides will discuss matters related to the promotion of trade and cooperation in the health sector.”

During the visit, Lyonchhen will call on the President, and meet the Prime Minister, and other dignitaries of Bangladesh.

Foreign minister Dr Tandi Dorji, health minster Dechen Wangmo, senior government officials  and a business delegation are accompanying the prime minister.
