Police in Paro recovered the body of a man who went missing since April 29. The body was found yesterday from the Dotechhu, the stream that runs from Doteng gewog. A taxi driver first spotted the body who then informed the gup.

According to police, the man, 44, although family members of the deceased began searching for him since the day he went missing, they filed a missing report with the police last Friday. According to the investigating team, the body had been in the river for several days.

The deceased, from Mongar, is a divorcee and a father of one.  The cause of death is unknown, and police are investigating the case.

Meanwhile, in a freak accident on Saturday, a 42-year-old teacher succumbed to injuries after a Bolero pick-up hit her in Drugyel, Paro. The teacher was immediately rushed to the hospital, but died upon arrival.

The driver of the Bolero, a 32-year-old from Bongo, Chukha was found to be drunk driving. Police officials said that he did not have a license to drive light and medium vehicle.

Both offender and the Bolero are in police custody.
