DeSuung: His Royal Highness the Gyaltshab Jigme Dorji Wangchuck graced the opening of a regional Desuung office in Mongar on December 9.

The regional office in the eastern region was opened to commemorate the tenth year of His Majesty The King’s reign. There are more than 40 Desuups in Mongar and Lhuentse working in various agencies.

A Desuup said that in absence of a Desuung office they faced coordination issues.

Meanwhile, HRH the Gyaltshab also graced the opening of a guest house for the Armed Forces Society.

The guest house is expected to benefit retired armed forces personnel when they visit the regional referral hospital in Mongar.

A retired armed force personnel Rinchen Wangdi, 63, said that he would no longer have to spend money on hotels with the opening of the guest house.

HRH the Gyaltshab also attended the final day of the Mongar tshechu and interacted with the people. Differently-abled people who attended the tshechu were offered tokha and soelra.
