Exhibition: His Majesty the King, His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo and members of the Royal family graced the Royal Bhutan Flower Exhibition, which was inaugurated by Her Majesty the Royal Grandmother, the chief guest.
The exhibition, initiated upon the command of His Majesty the King, is envisioned to inspire appreciation for beautiful spaces, foster community vitality, and encourage the growth of a vibrant entrepreneurship in floriculture across the nation.
In a message granted for the Royal Bhutan Flower Exhibition, His Majesty said: “Where we live must be clean, safe, organised, and beautiful, for national integrity, national pride, and for our bright future. This too is nation building.” The first Royal Bhutan Flower Exhibition is a celebration of the unique environmental and cultural heritage with the support and goodwill of citizens from all walks of life.
It symbolises the strength of partnership and collaboration in defining a new vision that embodies wide-ranging opportunities for the youth, florists and the economy at large.
The exhibition is dedicated to His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, as part of His Majesty’s 60th Birth Anniversary celebrations. It will be held annually.
Her Majesty Gyalyum Tshering Yangdon Wangchuck is the Royal Patron for the Royal Bhutan Flower Exhibition.
The exhibition displays creative installations incorporating flowers, as well as models of some of the most historic Bhutanese structures, such as Taktshang monastery and Punakha dzong.
Besides government organisations and armed forces, private nurseries and florists are also participating in the exhibition.
The exhibition is open to the public, and concludes on 6th April.
The Prime Minister, ministers and senior government officials, also attended the inauguration yesterday.
