Residents can move within their zones and designated shops would open from today. They will close by 6pm.

Gelephu town is divided into five different zones and Pelrithang, Pemathang, and Lekithang are the buffer zones since they border the thromde area.

Only a person per card would be allowed to move in the respective zones. And the ongoing constructions would be allowed after the assessment for self-containment measures.

Thromde, dzongkhag, and the gewog administrations will conduct the required assessment, according to the taskforce.

Operation of small and cottage industries and the ongoing training will be allowed upon the assessment of the containment measures.

There are more than seven small and cottage industries in Sarpang- Gelephu area and the containment measures were in place, according to the official from Bhutan Chamber for Commerce and Industry in Gelephu.

Sarpang region has three vegetable vendors, 21 shops and a pharmacy, Gelephu region has 23 shops and 19 shops in Umling which will operate during the seven-day lockdown in gewog zones for essential services.

Sarpang dzongkhag Covid-19 taskforce allowed six animal feed agents to open and nine livestock product collectors to function.

Meanwhile, Gelephu central regional referral hospital will also begin essential medical service delivery through a mobile clinic from today.

The mobile clinic would cover Samtenling and Gelephu gewogs, and Gelephu thromde areas.

The clinic would provide medical services such as blood sugar and blood pressure check-up for non-communicable diseases, medicine refill, and antenatal check-up, among others.

The hospital initiated the service to avoid any delay in medical care during an emergency.
