Crime: Damphu police are on the look our for a miscreant who had broken into the Damphu Higher Secondary School principal’s office on the night of April 27.

The vice principal’s office was also broken into. Despite damaging school property like statues, computers, printers and photo frames, the miscreants had stolen mobile phones, which the school authority seized from students.

“The miscreants have used some type of iron rod or crowbar to open the office,” the complaint letter from the school stated.

Damphu police interrogated the school caretaker and suspect the miscreants from within the school, a conclusion they arrived after visiting the crime scene.

“We are suspecting somebody from inside, but without concrete evidence we can’t straight away call for interrogation,” a police official said.
