Students in primary and lower secondary schools will report to their schools on March 1 while those in middle secondary and higher secondary schools will report on March 13 and 14.

The education ministry’s notification issued yesterday stated that for schools having Covid-19 positive cases, the dzongkhag Covid-19 task force will make decisions guided by the national Covid-19 task force.

According to Education Secretary Karma Tshering all students will follow safety protocols and take their RT-PCR tests before reporting to the schools for safety.




The notification stated that boarding students in middle secondary schools and higher secondary schools will report on March 13, while the day scholars will report on March 14.

“Students studying in those schools used for board examinations evaluation camps to report will on 11 April this year (evaluation ends on April 8),” the notification stated.

For Class XI students, the boarding students will report to schools on May 15 and day scholar students will report on May 16.

Results for Class X students who took the board exams will be announced on April 24.

Meanwhile, teachers in primary and lower secondary schools will report to their schools on February 15.




“Teachers and staff (PS and LSS) involved in evaluation camps shall report to the respective schools as soon as their assignments with the BCSEA ends,” the notification stated.

Further, schools will consider stranded students and teachers in other dzongkhags and thromdes who aren’t able to report on time due to the recent surge in the Covid-19 pandemic.

For stranded students, online lessons would be initiated accordingly.
