Police recorded six cases of burglaries in Wangdue, Samtse and Phuentsholing in three days.

There were four cases in Wangdue, one in Samtse and another in Phuentsholing on September 7, 11 and 12.

On September 12, a 43-year-old man reported that his electronic devices and a laptop bag worth Nu 120,200 and Nu 21,000 in cash was stolen from his office in Wangdue. The police found that the burglars had entered through the main entrance after breaking the latch.

The same day, a 29-year-old man filed a complaint stating that his electronic devices including mobile phones and pen-drive worth Nu 28,200 along with Nu 20,000 in cash had been stolen from his vehicle the previous night. The driver claimed that he had parked his vehicle near the basketball court in Bajothang but had failed to lock the vehicle.

A 30-year-old woman also reported the same day that her house in Wangdue had been robbed. Police found that the miscreants had broken the lock to the main entrance and had taken a sesho gho worth Nu 40,000, which was stored in a suitcase in the bedroom.

On the night of September 7, a laptop worth Nu 45,000 and a sunglass worth Nu 3,000 had been stolen from a 40-year-old man’s house in Wongjukha, Wangdue.

In Samtse, jewelries worth Nu 286,000 were reported stolen from a 32-year-old man’s house on September 12. Police said that the miscreants had broken the lock at the main entrance.

The cases are still under investigation.

Meanwhile, around 3:30PM on September 12, a 28-year-old man caught a 25-year-old man stealing batteries from the store. The complainant stated that the three batteries worth Nu 18,478 were missing from the store. The suspect who was detained by the police has confessed to the crime. The suspect stated that he sold the stolen battery to a taxi driver for Nu 2,000. The battery was recovered.
