SKD All Stars has reached the Bhutan Cricket Super 50 Cup 2021 final.

The tournament is being played at the Jigmethang Cricket Ground in Thimphu.

With four straight wins, SKD All Stars has secured eight points as of yesterday. The club has a game to play against Veteran United for the league round.

Veteran United is in second place, with six points from three games.

Six teams are participating in the tournament, which began on October 9.

Other participating teams are the Titans, Druk PNB Gladiators, JDWNRH CC, and True Warriors.

Druk PNB Gladiators won by five wickets against the Titans on November 7 in their last game of the league round. The team secured 107/5 in 13.4 overs. However, the Titans could maintain 106/9 in 19.5 overs.

The Druk PNB Gladiators and True Warriors have four points each.

Captain of SKD All Stars, Ranjung Mikyo Dorji, said that winning four straight games was remarkable. “One of the competent teams in the tournament is Veteran United.  Veteran United has been consistent in their performance.”

“We are equally talented. We expect to win the tournament,” he said.

In the 30 overs game last week, SKD thrashed the Titans by 108 runs in their fourth game. SKD hit 262 runs.

The top two teams from the league will play in the final on November 20.

Veteran United’s skipper, Tandin Wangchuk, said it was the first time his team was competing for the super cup.

He said that he was optimistic, but complimented their competitors. “SKD is a good team with young players, and they are physically fit.”

Each participating team paid an entry fee of Nu 5,000 to Bhutan Cricket.

SKD All Stars will face Veteran United on November 11.
