Police in Zhemgang arrested two men last week for alleged statutory rape of a girl in two separate incidents.

The men in late 30s were the minor’s stepfather and the owner of the house where the family lived.

Sources said that the police were informed about the incident when the girl’s mother took her for medical check-up after she complained of pain in her private part.

Both the suspects were arrested.

The girl is a student in one of the schools in the dzongkhag.
